PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a sufficient seizure and abrasion resistance of a high- pressure fuel pump for use with a cylinder-injection gasoline engine or the like even while it is lubricated by gasoline of low viscosity and lubricity. SOLUTION: Fuel is circulated forcibly for lubrication through sliding parts in a fuel pump, such as a swash-plate shaft 9 and a driveshaft 2, by means of the rotative centrifugal force, dynamic pressure or the like that the driveshaft 2 produces. The swash-plate shaft 9 is, by way of example, formed with a spiral groove 27, such that the relative rotation between the swash-plate shaft 9 and a ball joint 10 provides a screw effect to deliver fuel for lubrication. A swash plate 8, the swash-plate shaft 9, the driveshaft 2, and other pump components are formed with respective lubrication-use fuel passages 26, 27, 28, 29 and others. |
