PRODUCTION OF SHEET MOLDED CONTAINER MADE OF SYNTHETIC RESIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance gas barrier properties, coloring properties and printability and to recover and reutilize a synthetic resin. SOLUTION: A sheet molded container made of a synthetic resin is produced by coating a sheet comprising a synthetic resin with a polyvinyl alcohol resin and subsequently molding this coated sheet thermally to form a container and, after use, the polyvinyl alcohol resin coating layer on the surface of this container can be removed by post-treatment using e.g. steam or hot water. As this polyvinyl alcohol resin, polyvinyl alcohol with a polymerization degree of 200-8,000 and a saponification degree of 90-100 mol.% is pref. used.
