PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce bis(tricyclo[4.3.0.1<2.5> ]dec-7-en-3-yl) ether in high yield free from by-production of a large amount of waste aqueous sulfuric acid. SOLUTION: The bis(tricyclo[4.3.0.1<2.5> ]dec-7-en-3-yl) ether expressed by the formula is produced by heat treating dicyclopentadiene and an inorganic acid catalyst having water of crystallization (for example, a heteropoly acid hydrate) and/or an organic acid catalyst having water of crystallization (for example, an organic sulfonic acid hydrate).
