PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant constraint and crash protection device for vehicle which can change its operating state according to the ability expected of a controlling means so that power consumption can be reduced. SOLUTION: In a normal power consumption mode (step S40), a non-attached state of a seat belt is detected (NO at step S41), after a predetermined time (t) has passed (YES at step S42), a low power consumption mode where all the functions of MPU are stopped except the part in which a return signal is put (step S44), and when a seat belt is drawn out by an occupant or a tongue of the seat belt is attached to a buckle, the normal power consumption mode where all the functions of MPU are operated is set (step S46). |
