PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tidal current generator capable of ensuring stable power supply without depending on meteorological conditions of the sea. SOLUTION: A water channel 13 having a flow passage almost parallel to the flow direction of a tidal current is provided on a floating base 1 sunk right under a sea level and formed to maintain a preset positional relationship to a consistent tidal current and a water turbine unit 2 is arranged in the water channel 13, so that the kinetic energy of a tidal current flowing through the water channel 13 is taken as the rotating force of the water turbine unit 2 to drive a generator 3 for generation. In such a structure, as the floating base 1 with the water turbine unit 2 is sunk right under a sea level and formed to maintain a preset positional relationship to a consistent tidal current, generating operation can be continued without being affected by the roughness of a seal level if a sea is rough and waves are higher to ensure more stable power supply. |
