PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp unit for a vehicle for preventing occurrence of brightness and darkness of an illuminated light from a lens surface by making a thickness of a lamp case or particularly a thickness of a lens portion uniform, and a method for manufacturing the lamp unit. SOLUTION: In the lamp unit 10 for a vehicle obtained by integrally molding a lens portion 12 and a housing portion 13 by blow molding, a parting line L at the time of blow molding has a parting line L1 of the lens portion side formed substantially parallel to a lens surface 12a at a front end of the lens portion 12 and a parting line L2 of the housing portion side formed at a position for substantially splitting the housing portion 13 through a lamp component holding portion 14 of the housing portion 13.
