PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install an electrode material and machined electrode with a high direction accuracy. SOLUTION: In the fixing jig 31 of an electrode for discharge machining, recessed parts 33a-33d, in which a positioning pin 21 projected on the side of a shank holder 12 is inserted, are formed on the insertion port of the hollow and cylindrical insertion hole 3 and out of the inner surfaces of such recessed parts 33a-33d, a pair of facing side surfaces are formed in a taper shape. In other wards, the facing side surfaces of the recessed parts 33a-33d are inclined byθagainst the normal line direction on the surface of a main body 2 and the interval of the facing side surfaces becomes narrow towards inside.
