[Also in Division C2] Example 8 illustrates the stabilization of SBR with phosphite triesters prepared by reaction of either (a) bis-(alkylphenyl) phosphochloridite with 4,4<SP>1</SP>-thiobisphenol or 4,4<SP>1</SP>-isopropylidene bisphenol, or (b) PCl 3 with a mixture of secondary octyl phenols. An emulsion of the phosphite, containing sodium oleate as emulsifier, is added to SBR latex, which is then creamed with aqueous NaCl and coagulated with H 2 SO 4 , the resulting crumb being washed, dried and sheeted. |
