PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device for a parking brake for a vehicle capable of preventing inappropriate automatic stop due to swing of a vehicle by loading work and automatically stopping by securely detecting even a slow movement of the vehicle due to inclination of a road surface or the like in a short distance. SOLUTION: When a time intervalΔTn+1 of a pulse signal of a car speed sensor gets longer than the previous timeΔTn (Step S55), a count value of a first counter is reset (Step S60). If the generated pulse signal is caused by swing of a vehicle due to loading work or the like, the time interval of the pulse signal gets longer with decrease of the swing, and the count value of the first counter is reset. In other cases, it is regarded as starting of the vehicle, and the number of pulses continues to be accumulated without being reset.
