<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize removal and treatment of particulate in the exhaust muffler easily and reasonably in cost, and to improve tone of the exhaust noise. SOLUTION: In this exhaust muffler, a shell 2 is divided into two, and a first filter 40 and a second filter 50 are sandwiched by a first half portion 10 and a second half portion 20. The first half portion 10 is connected with a connection pipe 30, and the second half portion 20 is connected with a tail pipe 35. Each filter is structured with foam lightweight gypsum grains that is pressure formed with the binder. The first filter 40 uses foam lightweight gypsum grains of relatively large particle sizes, while the second filter 50 using that of relatively small particle sizes. Particulate of larger sizes are caught by the first filter where they adhere to numbers of foam lightweight gypsum grains, then smaller sized ones are caught by the second filter 50 surely. The filters to which the particulate has adhered can be used repeatedly by washing. Furthermore, because the foam lightweight gypsum grains of the filters contain numerous micro clearances internally, elements of offensive noise are reduced when passing the filters, and the tone of the exhaust noise improves.</p> |
