PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an evenly uniform non-woven fabric comprising undrawn thermoplastic fibers, having excellent stretchability and useful as a base fabric for molding processing, etc., by controlling the thermal shrinkage rates of the sheet in the longitudinal and latitudinal directions to prescribed values, respectively, after the sheet is formed. SOLUTION: This non-woven fabric comprises undrawn thermoplastic fibers, such as undrawn polyethylene terephthalate fibers, having an average fiber diameter of 1-40 μm and a birefringence (Δn) of <=0.01, and has thermal shrinkage rates of <=25%, preferably <=15%, in the longitudinal and latitudinal directions of the formed sheet, respectively, at a temperature comprising 25 deg.C + the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the thermoplastic fibers for 10 min. The non-woven fabric is preferably laminated to a thermoplastic film and subsequently stretched to prepare a raw paper sheet for heat-sensitive stencil printing. |
