PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ammonia quenching liquid reagent capable of rapidly quenching ammonia by including thermoduric isocitrate dehydrogenase which not only responds to both NADP<+> and NAD<+> but also shows excellent stability at alkaline pH. SOLUTION: The objective ammonia quenching liquid reagent is obtained by including thermoduric isocitrate dehydrogenase which not only responds to both NADP<+> and NAD<+> but also shows excellent stability at alkaline pH and is at least one of recombinant enzymes or the like produced from a transformant obtained by inserting an expression vector having the gene information of an enzyme obtained by synthesis, an enzyme obtained by extracting from cultured products of bacteria belonging to the genus Thermus, e.g. Thermus thermophillus and/or Thermus aquaticus, or the enzyme arising from bacteria belonging to the genus Thermus. The reagent is used to quench ammonia in a test substance when urea, creatinine or creatine in the test substance, e.g. urine, serum or the like, is measured. |
