PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To definitely confirm initial setting when the initial setting of an inversion region of a window is done by utilizing intentional catching-in of foreign matter. SOLUTION: A window fully closed line and a boundary line between an inversion region and a non-inversion region are indicated by L1 and L2, respectively. A jig G having a height corresponding to a height of the non-inversion region is caught in by a window 10 as a dummy of a foreign matter I. The number of pulses corresponding to the number of rotation of a drive motor 14 of the window 10 are output from the drive motor 14 thereof. While the window 10 is lifted toward a fully closed position, the number of pulses generated between a position M where operation conditions of a limit switch provided in the non-inversion region are changed and a position where the jig G is caught in after that is memorized as a distance between the position M and the boundary line L2. The number of pulses generated from the time of detection of catching in of a foreign matter to the time when the window 10 is automatically inverted and comes to the position M may be used as a distance to be memorized.
