PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antibacterial/deodorant material having excellent heat resistance, readily processible to a product with small possibility of discoloring or denaturating and useful for a medical and sanitary tool, an air cleaner, a building material, daily needs, etc., by dispersing and attaching metal particles such as metallic silver on titanium oxide particles. SOLUTION: This antibacterial/deodorant material is obtained by dispersing and attaching preferably 0.5-5 wt.% of one kind or two kinds of metal particle selected from metallic silver or metallic copper having nanometer order of diameter, preferably <=4 nm average diameter to anatase-typed titanium oxide particles having submicron size, preferably <=0.04 μm average diameter and having a photocatalytic property. Preferably, the metal particles contain one kind or two kinds of metal selected from platinum and palladium enhancing a catalytic property of titanium oxide. The antibacterial/deodorant material is contained in fibers (e.g. acrylic fibers) used for medical clothing, etc., to give an antibacterial/deodorant fibers or antibacterial/deodorant clothing. |
