PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the drop of an operation efficiency without giving a trouble to a passenger by setting first/second detection values for a load detected by a load detector in advance and providing an excessive loading avoidance means by which the motion of an excessive loading control device can be avoided by the first detection value. SOLUTION: When the detection load detected by a load detection device 7 exceeds a first detection value which is an excessive loading set in advance by the getting on/off of a passenger to/from a car, a controller 12 sends an order to a car controller 8 through an output device 13 and operates a report device 9 and also keeps the door 14 of the car in an open state. Here, when even at the time of excessive loading detection, a second detection value is not exceeded the detection value in the range of the reliable loading amount of the various instruments of an elevator beyond the first detection value, the controller 12 allows the running of the elevator by the operation of the excessive loading avoidance device 10 set in the car 1 and stops the excessive loading report device 9.
