FIELD: well drilling, stationary automatic drilling tongs applicable in making and breaking of drill and casing pipes. SUBSTANCE: drilling tongs include body accommodating upper and lower pipe clamping devices, reducing gear, drive motor and torque meter. Tongs have gear box mounted in separate housing, with high- and low-speed shafts. Gear box is located above reducing gear and provided with flywheel mounted on its high- speed shaft. Gear box housing is floating relative to axis of low-speed shaft connecting gear box with reducing gear. Tongs torque meter includes spring unit for torque value adjustment, reversing hydraulic sensor and hydraulic pusher. Hydraulic sensor has hydraulic hollow and adapted for engagement with two stops on reduction gear body. Hydraulic pusher is connected with hydraulic hollow and with switch of drive motor. EFFECT: quality making and breaking of drill and casing pipes with accurate information of torque value and possibility of its accurate adjustment. 3 cl, 4 dwg
