FIELD: sanitary treatment of air and surfaces in room. SUBSTANCE: the device has an actuator comprising a fan, ultra-violet radiation source and a control unit comprising an ultra-violet radiation source switching circuit. The ultraviolet radiation source is a mercury-arc lamp with a quartz envelope with a coating, the actuator also uses air intakes, the second fan, protective gratings, of air flow, screen-reflector, protective screen, rotary mechanism with a function selector switch. With the aid of the protective screen selected is the function of device actuation with an open ultra-violet radiation source or with a closed radiation source functioning as a recirculator. The control unit comprises a device switching assembly. The latter provides for device actuation with an open ultra-violet radiation source and device functioning with a closed ultra-violet radiation source. The first mode of operation is with a delay of actuation and accompanied with an audio danger signal. The second mode of operation is periodic and depends on contamination of the treated room air.
