The objective of the proposed operation and/or game method is attained by verifying the data carrier, determining the possibility of running the operation and/or game by the game-playing device by means of reading the operation and/or game signs from the data carrier, and performing the operation and/or game by means of the game-playing device. The system for implementation of the proposed method contains a stand-alone, portable game-playing device and a data carrier. The game-playing device is equipped with processor, memory, micro-controller, display device, data and commands input block, a data carrier authentication device, and a data carrier reader.
