<p>FIELD: medicine, virology, immunology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an immunogenic composition able to cause in humans the specific immune response to respiratory-syntytial virus that can be used for administration to the human-host. Invention involves an immunogenic composition able to cause in humans the specific immune response to respiratory-syntytial virus in the host immunized with this composition. The composition is the purified, inactivated RS-virus no containing cellular and serum components but showing noninfectious, nonimmunopotentiating, immunogenic properties and protecting from infection. Virus is cultured on vaccine quality cellular line and collected virus is purified under denaturating conditions to remove cellular and serum components. The purified RS-virus is inactivated with beta-propiolactone, nonionic detergent, n-octyl-beta-D-gluco-pyranoside and n-octyl-alpha-D-gluco-pyranoside or ascorbic acid.
