Decarboxylase activity of cells is 5 mcM GABA/min/mg of crude biomass and specific consumption of cells in the process of metabolism is 40 mg of crude biomass/1 g of GABA. The yield of the end product from glutamic acid is 55.6% wt.-% and that from sodium glutamate - 40 wt.-%. The content of GABA in the dry preparation - 98.7%.
