FIELD: projection displays. SUBSTANCE: proposed modulator of light-valve system is designed for operation under reflection mode. It has multilayer composition controlled under electrostatic condition that includes clear substrate, first clear and second insulating dielectric deforming layers, mirror layer and third dielectric insulating layer. Modulator is part of play-back tube of deformed light-valve system incorporating shell with transparent bottom. Play-back tube is used in projection TV systems having optical schlieren system and screen. EFFECT: increased sensitivity and simplified design of modulator. 25 cl, 6 dwg
