<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printing ink compsn. which hardly causes misting, is excellent in printability, and forms a coating film excellent in water resistance and. esp., resistance to retorting by incorporating an alkyd resin having specified oil length and hydroxy value as a resin component, together with a pigment and a solvent, into the same. SOLUTION: An alkyd resin having an oil length of 20-50% and a hydroxy value of 50-250 is used. Pref., the alcohol component for preparing the resin contains 3-80 mol.% at least one compd. represented by the formula (wherein R1 to R3 are each H or an alkyl provided the sum of the numbers of carbon atoms of R1 to R3 is 3 or higher). The oil component of the resin is selected from among linseed oil, soy bean oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, etc., and the fatty acid component is selected from among the fatty acid of the oil component, caprylic acid, lauric acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, benzoic acid, phthalic acid (anhydride), maleic acid (anhydride), trimellitic acid (anhydride), etc. An example of the compd. of the formula is 2-n-butyl-2-ethyl-1,3-propanediol.</p> |
