Sausage skin reefing assembly places skin on tube which moves back and forth

An assembly prepares a sausage skin (3) for filling by reefing to give it a corrugated form. The sausage skin is placed over and around a detachable pipe (4) which extends between two contra-rotating wheels (2) attached to a common base (1). The novelty is that: (a) the pipe (4) may move back and forth in the direction of sausage skin (3) feed; (b) the contra-rotating wheels (2) are flexible; (c) the pipe (4) remains unmoved until it is subjected a force in excess of a given threshold; (d) the pipe (4) movement is controlled; (e) the degree of sausage skin reefing is detected by a sensor.
