Control mechanism for operating a latch, especially a door latch

The first arm (126) is attached to the frame (12) for pivotal movement relative to the frame around a first axis (130) between first and second positions. The first arm has first connecting portions (134) which is connectable to a latch to effect operation of the latch connected to the first connecting portion as an incident of the first arm moving from the first to the second position. An actuator (22) is translatable relative to the frame between normal and actuating positions along a line that is transverse tot eh first axis. The actuator assembly engages a first edge (136) and causes the first arm (126) to move from the first into a second position as an incident of the actuator assembly moving form the normal position into the actuating position. A second arm (128) can be actuated simultaneously and either or both arms can connect to respective latches.
