Disclosed is a method for regulating brake pressure in a wheel brake, comprising the following steps: determining a preliminary set pressure gradient during brake regulation; determining control signals for a hydraulic pump and/or at least one hydraulic valve to regulate the set pressure gradient; detecting real pressure using a pressure model; determining slip in one of the driven wheels; comparing the real value with a first threshold value that is lower than the maximum possible brake pressure and comparing wheel slip with a second threshold value as long as it relates to drive slip. If the real value and the wheel slip exceed the corresponding threshold values, the preliminary set pressure gradient is augmented. The invention also relates to a corresponding device.
