A device for generating currents with phase and/or amplitude depending on the electrical angle of rotation of the motor to attain desired torques. Device has a rotation angle transmitter with gear wheel (2) driven by motor shaft, a sensor (3,4) influenced by gear wheel position. Sensor output signal is used to control the phase and/or amplitude of the currents to be generated. The device gear wheel (2) number of the teeth corresponds to the number of pole pairs of the synchronous motor. The contour of the teeth is designed so that each angular position of the gear wheel inside a tooth distribution has a distance of the contour from the sensor determining the output signal of the sensor and assigned to this angular position.
