X-ray detection method for X-ray imaging system

The X-ray beam (Fx') which has been attenuated in the examined object (2), encounters a detector array (3) consisting of a thick high energy detector (7) and two thin low energy detectors (4, 5). The detectors are arranged such that the second low energy detector (5) sees the same high energy radiation as the fist low energy detector (4). As the low energy portion of the beam has been absorbed in the first low energy detector (4), a low energy beam signal free from noise generated by high energy X-rays interacting with the low energy detector material, is obtained by subtracting the signal from the second detector (5) from the signal from the first detector (4).
