The filter (2) is located in the housing which is divided into two parts (10,11) along its length. Each part has a set of triangular tooth formations (16) extending along opposite sides which mate with one another. The filer is pleated across its width in a zigzag fashion so that the filter profile follows the tooth formation. The housing may be molded of two identical parts from flexible plastic, e.g. PVC and may be corrugated on the outer surface to improve flexibility. One of the parts of the housing may have a carbon dioxide sampling port. An Independent claim is included for: (i) a filter, and (ii) an assembly including a fluid treatment device. Preferred Features: The assembly has a tracheal tube, a connector between the tracheal tube and one end of the fluid treatment device, ventilation tubing, and a connector between the said tubing and the other end of the fluid treatment device. Preferably, the fluid treatment element is an HME (heat and moisture exchange) element. |
