Drive system for household refuse grinders - has power supply in hood above geared motor and connected to motor terminal board

The drive system for a household refuse grinder has a direct current motor with a gear box flanged to one of its ends. The power supply components, such as a relay, transformer etc., are mounted on a support board which is connected to a second board beneath it. The second board has contacts on its underside to connect with the terminal contacts on top of the motor housing. The double-board arrangement and the power supply components are enclosed in a cover hood with ventilation holes. The plug and lead for connecting the assembly to the house mains are connected to a lead-through bushing in the side of the hood.
