<p>Negative thermal expansion materials, methods of preparation and uses thereof are disclosed. The materials are used for negative thermal expansion substrates, such as those used for optical fiber gratings. For example, the negative thermal expansion substrates are useful in optical fiber gratings having a fiber (24) attached to the substrate at points (39 and 32), and an intermediate fiber length (60) cushioned by a low modulus damping material (62).</p> |
