METAL SORTING METHOD AND DEVICE

A metal sorting device which sorts and recovers metals material by material from crushed nonmagnetic metals with high accuracy. The sorting device is composed of a feeder (12) which feeds crushed pieces (1) containing metal successively, a conveyer (20) which conveys the fed crushed pieces successively, an electromotive force measuring instrument (30) which, by passing the conveyed pieces (3) through a magnetic field in which a plurality of detection coils are provided, measures the change of the electromotive forces of the detection coils, a mass measuring instrument (50) which measures the mass of each piece, an arithmetic processor (81) which calculates the volume of each piece from the change of the electromotive force measured for each piece and calculates the density from the volume and the mass of each piece to identify the kind of material of each piece and a sorting/recovering device (60) which recovers the pieces sorted material by material.
