Access control method for access-restricted system e.g. for mobile radio and pay TV-system

The method of monitoring access to a access-restricted system, such as a television (TV) receiver, involves deriving identification information from the user information which is stored on a user-specified smart-card (11) for a mobile telephone (3). The identification information of the mobile telephone is scanned and from the obtained identification information it is judged whether access authorisation for use of the system by the respective use is allowed or not. An independent claim is given for the access-restricted system.
