To remove the metallic outer layer (5) of a gravure printing impression cylinder (1), which layer is provided with ink cells, from the base layer (4) situated beneath it, the outer layer (5) is heated and then cooled. As a result the outer layer (5), together with a covering layer (6) made of a wear-resistant material and situated on top of it, becomes detached from the base layer (4). The detached parts of the outer layer (5) are present in solid form and can be disposed of without difficulty. |
