The connecting tool (3) can be transferred from the inserting position into a clamping position by means of an actuating organ (5). In the clamping position the connecting tool (3) is inserted into a receiving space (1) in which an insulation-displacement device (2) is located. The invention aims to ensure the especially safe contacting of the electrical conductor. To this end, when the connecting tool (3) is moved into the clamping position said tool at least near the clamping position presents a displacement component in or against the direction of insertion (x).
