The invention relates to an airbag for an airbag module having a first chamber (4), which can be connected to a gas feeding device (12), at least one second chamber (6) and a valve device (16), which makes it possible for gas to flow over from the first chamber (4) into the second chamber (6) only when a predetermined pressure is reached in the first chamber (4) on account of impact of a vehicle occupant with the airbag (2).
