An electrically insulating screw connection to join a first workpiece made out of electrically conducting material with a hole (2) and a second workpiece (3) made out of electrically conducting material with a threaded hole (4), has a screw (5). This has a head (6), a shaft with an unthreaded upper part (7) put through the hole in the first workpiece and a lower part (8) screwed into the threaded hole of the second workpiece. There is a disc-shaped insulating device (10) between the surfaces of the two workpieces that point to one another. The screw consists of metal and has an electrically insulating coating at least in the region of the hole of the first workpiece.
