The vehicle body moves along an assembly line on a suspended conveyor, and the chassis components are supplied on an assembly trestle. The trestle (6) is moved at right angles to the conveyor (1) between a ready position (7) to the side of the conveyor, and an assembly position (4) below it. The length of the trestle in movement direction of the conveyor is such, that a body (3) above it remains above the stationary trestle during the assembly distance (Z) while chassis components and body are connected. |
