<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can control fluctuation of gray scale based on each pixel unit, which can be observed even in the case where the visual angle is mainly changed, and is applicable to large sized displays which require a wide angle of visibility characteristics. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, a liquid crystal material is sealed between a pair of substrates 31 and 32 opposing to each other, a plurality of pixel electrodes 38 which apply voltages to the liquid crystal material is constructed on the substrate 31, a common electrode 12 which applies a common voltage to each pixel electrode 38 is constructed on the substrate 32 and gate wiring 22 and drain wiring 23 of switching elements, which control the applied voltages to the pixel electrodes 38, are extended so as to mutually orthogonally cross. In the liquid crystal display device the direction of alignment of liquid crystal molecules 18 adjacent to the pixel electrodes 38 orthogonally crosses the direction of alignment of liquid crystal molecules 19 adjacent to the common electrode 12, and each direction is set to be almost parallel to extended directions of either the gate wiring 22 or the drain wiring 23.</p> |
