PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an over-voltage protection system that is immune to noise by means of a unique contrivance while incorporating the over-voltage protection system to an information transmission reception system using a serial bus. SOLUTION: An over-voltage detection means 11 included in an integrated circuit B detects it that an anode voltage becomes abnormally higher based on a signal from a flyback transformer 6 and provides an output of an over- voltage detection signal. A detection section processing means 10 integrates the over-voltage detection signal to part of transmission data according to a prescribed format. The resulting transmission data are outputted to a serial bus C via a bus interface 9 and received by an integrated circuit A via a bus interface 3. An over-voltage protection circuit 2 of the integrated circuit A conducts over-voltage protection processing such as shut-down and hold-down based on the received data.
