PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an elastic rubber blade from being turned up while keeping excellent cleaning performance over a long term by substantially holding the blade to a supporting member on the surface abutting on a photoreceptor and forming a specified under-coating layer on a conductive supporting body at a part where the blade does not abut on a photoreceptor layer. SOLUTION: An elastic rubber blade 8 is substantially held by a supporting body 9 for fixing the blade on a cleaning member on the side of the blade's surface abutting on the photoreceptor. As for the photoreceptor to be used, an under-coating layer including an organometal compound and a silane coupling agent and/or a product produced therefrom is formed on a conductive supporting body at a part where the blade does not abut on the photoreceptor layer. In such a case, the blade to be used 8 is composed so that a free end is provided on the member 9. Then, it is preferable to bring the free end of the blade 8 in press-contact with the photoreceptor in the state where its direction may be opposite (counter) to the rotating direction of the photoreceptor. |
