PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for mixing granular or bar-shaped spacer members with liquid crystals and to solve the problem of display unevenness by forming transparent electrode films on colored layers and forming spacers for holding spacings for holding the liquid crystals via these transparent electrode films on the portions where the three colors of colored pixels are stacked. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 1 comprises a color filter 2 and a counter substrate 3 for TFTs, etc. The color filter is constituted by forming black matrices 5 on a glass substrate 4 and forming the colored layers 6 consisting of three primary colors, R(red), G(green), B(blue) with these black matrices as boundaries. The surfaces of the colored layers 6 are provided with protective films 7 consisting of a transparent synthetic resin and the transparent electrode films 8 consisting of ITO, etc., are formed on these protective film. The surface thereof are provided with the spacers 9 consisting of the synthetic resin. Alignment membranes 12 are formed on the respective surfaces where the color filter 2 is bought into contact with the liquid crystal of the counter substrate 3 and are joined with a sealant 10. The liquid crystals 11 is sealed between the color filter 2 and the counter substrate 3. |
