PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which prevents a display inferiority even if air bubbles are generated within liquid crystal. SOLUTION: The first transparent insulating substrate SUB2, which comprises a plurality of films containing a light shielding film BM dividing pixels, and the second transparent insulating substrate SUB1 comprising a plurality of films are placed so as to make their planes laminated with the films confronted with each other keeping a gap between them, are provided with a frame-shaped sealant located on the periphery of the two substrates and liquid crystal is filled inside the sealant to form a liquid crystal display. A groove is formed in the part of the display region, shielded by the film BM, formed inside the sealant of the liquid crystal display so as to make the gap of the liquid crystal layer LC in the region shielded by the film BM wider than the gap of liquid crystal layer in the region not shielded by the film BM. |
