PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an ultrasonic motor having higher speed and output at low cost, while enhancing productivity of stator more effectively. SOLUTION: An annular resilient body 1 in the stator of an ultrasonic motor has a specified number of comb-teeth 2 arranged annularly and a slot 3 is formed between adjacent comb-teeth 2. The circumferential side face 2a of the comb-teeth 2 is slightly tapered with respect to a plane 7 perpendicular to the bottom 3a of the slot, such that the cross-section of the slot 3 is enlarged from the bottom 3a of the slot toward the opening side. More specifically, the circumferential width at the tooth crest 2b is shorter than that at the tooth flank 2c. Furthermore, corner parts on the bottom 3a of the slot and on the circumferential side face 2a of the comb-tooth 2 are rounded. |
