PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the CIS(close contact-type Image Sensor) of a facsimile terminal equipment from being adversely affected by a magnetic field generated by a processing unit which serves as a recorder that records picture image data on paper. SOLUTION: A CIS 34 provided in a manuscript read unit 6 arranged on the underside of an operation panel 8 of a facsimile terminal equipment is arranged on the upside of an upper case 1b above a processing unit 3 disposed inside a main lower case 1a, the underside of the CIS 34 is covered with a magnetic shielding metal plate 90, and the magnetic shielding plate 90 and a metal case cover that covers the underside of the main lower case 1a are electrically connected together.
