<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optically scan a work surface without the need of an excessive space and without being limited by a scanning object. SOLUTION: A scanning mouse 28 is provided with two optical navigation sensors 20 and 21 for enabling the measurement of movement and rotation and image sensors for detecting and digitizing images, preferably orthogonal two image sensors 29 and 30, and is connected to a computer. The computer processes data including the positions of the navigation sensors 20 and 21 and digitized image data. The image from the optical navigation sensors 20 and 21 as a picture element array is the image of the fabric shape of the work surface where the scanning mouse 28 moves, the successive frames of the image are obtained by the movement of the scanning mouse 28 and they are stored. The direction and amount of the movement are formed by autocorrelation of the frames.</p> |
