<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a multiplexing efficiency on an ATM connection and to prevent the deterioration of the using efficiency of a band by operating a switching processing for multiplexing common part sub-layer(CPS) packet extracted from ATM cells on different physical lines on the same virtual path/ virtual channel. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an input ATM line 10, a selector 11, a CPS packet memory 16, and a CPS packet processing part 17 or the like. Then, at the time of transferring ATM adaptation layer 2(AAL2) packets, the ALL2 packets are extracted from ATM cells on different physical lines at the pre-stage of an ATM switch, and the rewriting of the channel identifier of each ALL2 packet is operated, and the collision of the channel identifiers of the ALL2 packets transmitted from the different physical lines to the same direction is prevented. As a result, the ALL2 packets extracted from the ATM cells on the different physical lines can be multiplexed on the same virtual path/virtual channels.</p> |
