PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a toner leak by surely recovering undeveloped toner on a developing sleeve after development in the opening of a developing container. SOLUTION: In an area where undeveloped toner on a developing sleeve 5 is recovered, a sealing member 17 composed of a flexible sheet (SUS 304) is disposed so that its one end is fixed to a frame 18 and its free end, the other end is in frictional contact with the developing sleeve 5. The undeveloped toner is prevented from receiving electric field by which it is pulled and peeled in the direction of the sealing member 17, by applying a bias to it from a power source 20 as well as to the developing sleeve 5, thereby making the developing sleeve 5 and the sealing member 17 equal potential. Thus, the toner is prevented from leaking from the lower part of the developing sleeve 5. |
