PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive contributive to the diminution of anaphylaxis to chemical matters and sick house syndrome, by utilizing the function and characteristics of tourmaline. SOLUTION: This adhesive is produced by blending a formalin-based adhesive with 0.1-30 wt.% tourmaline powder having the size of 0.9-100μm and by kneading. It is possible to restrain the evaporation of formaldehyde and to maintain a semipermanent effect against anaphylaxis to chemical matters and sick house syndrome by applying the adhesive to building materials (e.g. plywood, laminated lumber, flooring), furniture, wallpaper, etc.
