PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel means for imparting a flame retardance to a crosslinked polymer composition obtained through metathesis polymerization. SOLUTION: When mixing and polymerizing multiple reactant streams containing metathesis polymerizable cyclic olefins, the polymerization is carried out in the presence of (1) a halogenated polystyrene dissolved in a cyclic olefin and (2) at least one metal oxide selected from the group consisting of antimony, aluminum, zirconium and born oxides dispersed in the cyclic olefin to form a flame retardant crosslinked polymer composition having good physical properties. |
