PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure, in which a window plate is installed without deformation and cracking even when a synthetic resin material expanding and contracting in size larger than inorganic glass is used for the window plate. SOLUTION: The window assembly has a frame member 1, which has an opening section 1a on the inside, in which a recessed groove 5 is formed along the opening section and which is made of a rigid material, a window plate 3 molded tabularly of a transparent synthetic resin having a linear expansion coefficient larger than the frame member 1 and fitted to the frame member 1 so as to close the opening section 1a, and a bonding member 19 having elasticity following expansion and contraction in the face direction of the window plate 3 and being interposed between the window plate 3 and the recessed groove 5 and fixing the window plate 3 and the frame member 1. In the bonding member 19, both end faces in the thickness direction are joined with the underside 3b of the window plate 3 and the bottom wall 5a of the recessed groove 5 while a deflection space section 20 permitting elastic deflection following expansion and contraction in the face direction of the window plate 3 is formed between the underside 3b of the window plate 3 and the side wall 5b of the recessed groove 5. |
